A kinkmeme for casual writing about all figure skaters and ships. Welcome to all writers and anyone who would like to be involved!
To post a prompt, just click reply on the main entry. To fill a prompt, follow the instructions on General Prompts #1.
Rules:
1. ykinmkato (Your kink is not my kink and that's okay!). This applies to all ideas, regardless of kinkiness or fluffiness or darkness. Please do not harass people over having prompts or fills that are not your cup of tea. If you want to see something you like, prompt and/or fill it.
2. Please do not harass people over skaters or their portrayals of skaters! For example, this means someone can prompt or write about someone asking for an uncharitable characterization of a skater. However, people cannot attack them in the comments or demand the portrayal be changed. This goes the opposite way as well: if you feel someone is being too good in their portrayal of a skater, that’s not your business!
3. It is okay to not finish your fill, or not follow through on a fill you preemptively said you would do. This is supposed to be fun, and we understand things happen. It is okay to ask if someone is still working on something, but do not harass them over it, especially if the answer is no!
4. If you crosspost your work to ao3, please include a link as your last fill response!
5. When posting, you MUST include the intended ship (or lack thereof) and/or characters, as well as a rating (G, T, M, E) in the prompt title. (E = Explicit, M = Mature, T = Teen, G = General Audience). Rating is more important for the fill title, prompters can just put “Any” if they don’t have a specific preference.
Ex:
Yuzuru Hanyu/Shoma Uno, E
You can also include a short hook to communicate a very short version of your following prompt.
This is OPTIONAL. All sense of tagging beyond ship, main characters, and rating is completely up to the author. Generally if you write something you would prefer there be a warning for if you read it, make a little author's note at the start of your fill (not in the header, unless it is also serving as an advertisement for your fill). This is ultimately your choice and a moment for author's discretion. The only thing you are required to do is make the header accurate to ship(s), main characters, and rating.
Ex:
Keiji Tanaka/Daisuke Takahashi, E, Narcissus EX
To fill a prompt, you can copy the header of the original prompt and add FILL at the start of your header, and any numbering if your fill has multiple parts.
Make sure to change the ship, characters involved, and rating if needed.
Ex:
FILL: Yuzuru Hanyu/Javier Fernandez, Brian Orser, G (1/?)
6. No one owns any prompt. By posting it anonymously on the kinkmeme it is now free for all.
7. That said, if you are talking with someone about an idea, please ask before prompting it. Just try to be polite. That said, there are many common tropes which people can come up with on their own, are essentially public property, or incorporate as they write. Please allow prompters some benefit of the doubt when it comes to these common cases. Additionally, ideas are often discussed in large groups. Sometimes you can’t get consent from everyone, and the idea may feel common enough that it’s okay to prompt. Thus:
8. If a prompt specifically harkens back to a conversation you had with someone and was posted without your consent; ie you feel you own the idea and it was put up for adoption without your consent, it is your responsibility to contact me (eulimnion, Low in the discord) and explain your side with screenshots. Please understand that I may not side in your favor depending on the degree of commonality of the prompt. For example, a generic trope prompt like “Yuzuvier, Spy AU” is not a private idea. However, if the prompt includes an idea you had from a specific conversation such as “Yuzuver, Spy AU where Yuzu steals priceless art and Javi has to track him down” then I would remove it. In the event someone comes forward to me privately, I will let people know in the discord channel that the prompt is currently under review, and people will ideally refrain from writing or posting until it is in the clear or deleted.
9. Each prompt can have multiple fills. This means if you are writing a fill and someone else posts one, you can still post yours. If you see a prompt that interests you but it already has a fill, still go for it! This is a “Yay, two cakes!” philosophy. Someone filling the same prompt is not plagiarism unless you’re ripping point for point. Please do not be intimidated if a prompt has a really serious and talented fill and you don’t feel up to snuff with your work. Everyone will just enjoy there being another fill!
10. You CAN fill prompts with art instead of writing! Just remember art styles are somewhat more recognizable. This is done by adding a link to imgur or ao3 or any relevant platform your art is posted.
11. Only crosspost fics you wrote yourself onto ao3. I feel like that shouldn’t have to be said, but if it happens and someone steals your fill, please let me know and we can work with the discord mods about it.
12. There is no length requirement for fills. Please do not complain if an author writes a short fill. Someone else may come along and do another fill.
13. It is okay to write a fill that is not quite on topic to the prompt. If it still at least somewhat touches the intended prompt, then post it. If you are worried about it being too abstracted from the original prompt, just make your own prompt to post it on! You can reference the original and what happened, but don’t worry about it.
14. All prompts posted to the kinkmeme are now in the public sphere for use and abuse, so to speak. Fills may not be what you expect. If the fill is not what you wanted, you are allowed to politely state that, and hopefully someone else will fill it! Please do not be rude, though. You are also allowed to make prompts inspired by other prompts with additions or new ideas attached! If you really like a prompt but it is not for the ship you like, you can make a separate prompt inspired by it for your ship.
15. If you are okay with people making continuations to your fill (such as in the case of a round robin) please say so! Obviously this can also be announced and arranged in the discord, but generally, please do not make direct continuations of fills without permission. Making prompts and fills inspired by other fills is allowed, though.
Obligatory disclaimer: all writing is of ficitional characters, is not meant to resemble any persons existing in real life nor cast aspersions upon them, etc
